About Us

An International Community

Basilian Sisters living the Gospel in today’s world

Rooted in the Rule of Saint Basil and the spiritual legacy of the Eastern Church, we live lives of prayer, community, and charity

Rooted in the Spirit, Alive in the world

A life shaped by Eastern Catholic tradition — contemplative, communal, and compassionate

The Rule of Saint Basil teaches us to seek God in all things: through silence and word, through action and prayer. As Basilian Sisters, we live this heritage with joy: celebrating the Divine Liturgy, supporting one another in community, and serving Christ in our neighbors. Our charism is both ancient and modern — a living tradition that nourishes us and invites others to discover the beauty of faith lived fully.

A Legacy of Faith Across Centuries

Worldwide mission of prayer and service

Our story begins in the 4th century, with the spiritual vision of Saint Basil the Great and his sister, Saint Macrina. Born in the heart of the Eastern Church, the first women’s monasteries lived in simplicity, prayer, and service,
a way of life that would spread across cultures and generations.

Through times of persecution
and rebirth

The Basilian Sisters remained faithful to their mission. From Kyiv to North and South America, from Eastern Europe to Australia, we have carried the light of Christ into schools, parishes, missions, and the lives of those most in need.

This is not only our past. It is the foundation of who we are today.

One Heart, One Mission

We serve across continents
