On June 2, 2025, Mother Marcela Runcan, OSBM, Archimandrite of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great, attended the Liturgical commemoration of Blessed Hieromartyr Iuliu Hossu, a Romanian Greek Catholic Bishop and Cardinal of the Roman Church. Blessed Iuliu had distinguished himself in the defense of the Jews during World War II and died as a result of the Communist persecution in Romania. The commemoration took place in the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican, where Pope Leo XIV delivered an address to the attendees.
