Our Lady of Perpetual Help Province, Uniontown, PA

The U.S. history of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great began in 1911 with four Sisters arriving in Philadelphia. By 1921, they founded the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Province in Cleveland, caring for orphans and expanding educational ministries.

After acquiring Mount St. Macrina in 1933, the estate became their permanent motherhouse and ministry center, hosting spiritual retreats, schools, and care facilities.

They expanded services to include pastoral care, iconography, and substance abuse rehabilitation. Despite challenges like the Great Depression, the Sisters remained committed to their mission as a praying, healing, and life-giving presence. Today, they continue this legacy while preparing to pass stewardship to future generations.
