12th General Chapter | Light in the Darkness: Voices of Ukrainian Sisters Amid War

On Monday, July 21, in the evening, the delegates prayed Vespers together, in different languages, during which the Sisters from Ukraine shared moving and hope-filled testimonies about their experience of the war in Ukraine.

They spoke about their experience of loss, about some experiences of light in the darkness of the war, also about the experience of children’s pain and fear in the orphanage. They talked about shelters that became places of prayer and about the solidarity that was born in the darkness of uncertainty. The Ukrainian Sisters chose to remain close to those who were suffering, helping the refugees and the soldiers, offering food, trying to heal war wounds, comfort, and bring hope when all seemed lost. These testimonies were living signs of a faith.

Sisters from Ukraine are grateful to each unit in the Order for their prayers and humanitarian support.
