During the days of July 31 – August 4, 2025 the Basilian Sisters of Mother of God Province in Prešov, Slovakia held their Provincial Chapter. The opening of the Chapter started with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Bishop Marián Andrej Pacák, CSsR on Thursday, July 31, 2025 in the chapel of the Provincial house in Prešov. Then the Delegates moved to the Greek-Catholic Priestly Seminary of Blessed Bishop Pavol Peter Gojdič, where the Provincial Chapter continued the following days. Today, on August 4, 2025, in the presence of Fr. Volodimír Sedláček, OSBM (Provincial Superior of the Basilian Fathers), the election of the new Provincial Administration took place.

The following sisters were elected to lead the Province for the next five years:

– Mother Josifa Helena Šimová, OSBM – Provincial Superior

– Sister Damiána Amália Kuzmová, OSBM – Vicar and First Provincial Councilor

– Sister Simeona Jana Hutníková, OSBM – Second Provincial Councilor

– Sister Adriana Natália Lizak, OSBM – Third Provincial Councilor

– Sister Petra Helena Zahorjanová, OSBM – Fourth Provincial Councilor

The Basilian Sisters of Mother of God Province warmly welcomed the newly elected Provincial Administration and wished them to be focused on Christ and serve in leadership for the good of the Province and the entire Church.
