Perpetual Vows of Sister Kheruvyma Hrybonos, OSBM, in Ukraine

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, a joyful event took place in Holy Trinity Province. Sister Kheruvyma Hrybonos, OSBM, professed her perpetual vows in the presence of General Superior M. Emanujila Vishka , OSBM, in Maly Berezny, at the monastery of the Basilian Fathers. The Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was presided by Bishop Teodor Matsapula of the Mukachevo Eparchy, concelebrated by the Provinical Superior of the St. Nicholas Province, Fr. Frantsisk Onysko, OSBM, and priests of the Eastern and Western Churches. The celebration was attended by Basilian Sisters from Ukraine, led by the Provincial M. Danyila Vynnyk, OSBM, Basilian Sisters from Slovakia, relatives and friends of Sister Kheruvyma, and numerous faithful.

In her greeting, M. Emanujila Vishka, OSBM, expressed her joy and gratitude to God for this solemn day, when Sister Kheruvyma responded “yes” to God’s invitation to serve Him and bear witness to His love until death in the Order of St. Basil the Great. She noted that all the Sisters are rejoicing today, because Sister Kheruvyma is the future and hope of the Order. The General Superior also recalled that our predecessors are invisibly present at this celebration, praying for Sister Kheruvyma, supporting her, and inspiring her to devoted service. They are the “cloud of witnesses” who lived and carried out their ministry in Transcarpathia. Mother Emanujila specially mentioned the servants of God, Sister Vasylia Hlibovitska, Mother Magdalena Humenyuk, Mother Iryna Oleksiuk, Mother Agneta Tsenkner, and many others.

Making Perpetual Vows is an act of faith and love of God, and an important event in the life of the entire Church.
